Sifu Marcia Cruz
Sifu Marcia began her training in Chinese Kenpo Karate in 1986. Her studies began with Chief Al Tejero who taught her to specialize in brick breaking. In 1987 she was introduced to Cepeda Brothers Martial arts and in 1992 was the first woman to receive a Black Belt from Cepeda Brothers. She was instrumental in the opening of several other Martial Arts schools, including Brand X Martial Arts.
During the nineties she developed, and continues to teach, a 12 week women's Self- Defense course, while continuing to teach at Arena and Brand X. Additionally, she holds a "Second's" license (for both Boxing & Martial Arts) with the California State Athletic Commission and has Certifications in both First Aid and CPR. Recently, she was featured in an infomercial for Zen Sports Balm to play in 80 countries.
She currently holds a 5th degree Black Belt in Kenpo Karate. In 2003 she became Chairperson for the Ambassador program for the San Diego Chamber of Commerce and will be starting up the San Diego Chapter of the U.S. Women's Chamber Of Commerce in 2004. In October of 2003, she attended the Complete Combat Seminar given by Darren Levine, Bas Rutten and Amir Perets, focusing on Submissions, Weapons and Third Party Defense.
